bed的用法說明

1.關(guān)于與冠詞或其它限定詞的連用問題：

(1)一般說來，表示與“睡覺”這一概念有關(guān)時，通常不用冠詞或其它限定詞，反之則用。如：

It is too early for bed. 現(xiàn)在睡覺太早了。

He went to bed at 9 last night. 他昨晚9點上床睡覺。

He wentto the bed and found a letter on it. 他走到床邊，發(fā)現(xiàn)上面放著一封信。

He sat by the bed, watching TV. 他坐在床邊看電視。

(2)與介詞in連用時，通常不用冠詞；而與介詞on連用時，通常要有冠詞。如：

He is still in bed. 他還在睡覺。

He’s sick in bed witha cold. 他因感冒而臥床。

There is a box on the bed. 床上有個盒子。

有時兩者都可以用，只是搭配不同而已。如：

躺在床上看書是個壞習慣。

正：It is a bad habit to read in bed.

正：It is a bad habit to read on a [the] bed.

(3) 與介詞into, out of 等連用時也通常不用冠詞或其它限定詞。如：

He got into bed quickly. 他很快上了床。

He jumped out of bed as soon as he heard the bell. 他一聽到鈴聲就跳下了床。(from www.網(wǎng)址未加載)

2.注意以下合成詞：

(1) bedroom n. 寢室，臥室。如：

The children’s bedroom is on thetop floor. 孩子們的臥室在頂樓。

(2) bedtime n. 就寢時間。如：

My usual bedtime is 10 o’clock. 我通常10點上床睡覺。

(3) bedside n. 床邊。如：

He watched by her bedside. 他守護在她床邊。

(4) bedsitter n. 臥室與起居室兩用的房間
