book的用法說明

1.用作名詞，表示“書”，漢語的“看書”有兩層含義。如：

(1) 表示閱讀性地“看書” (即讀書)，一般要用動詞 read。如：

He is reading a book in his room. 他在房里看書。

I’ve read yourbook with pleasure. 我已高興地拜讀了你的大作。(from www.網址未加載)

(2) 不是表示閱讀性地“看書”，而只是大概地看一看，比如看看書的封面、定價、內容提要等，或者回答問題時看看書的某些章節(jié)或字句等，或者是考試時偷看書本等，此時都不宜用動詞 read, 而用 lookat, see等動詞。如：

Can I look at those books? 我可以看看那些書嗎?

Jim demanded to see my books. 吉姆要求看看我的書。

Please answer my questions without looking at your books. 請不看書回答我的問題。

Students must not look at their books duringexaminations. 學生考試不準舞弊。

2.用作動詞，意為“預定”，可以用作及物或不及物動詞。如：

Seats (for the theatre) can be booked from 9 am to 6 pm. (劇院的)定座時間是上午9點至下午6點。

Please book a ticket for Londonplease. 請訂一張去倫敦的票。

You’d better book early for theplay. 你最好早點預定戲票。
