一天，爸爸和兒子一起去買(mǎi)書(shū)。爸爸問(wèn)賣(mài)書(shū)的叔叔說(shuō)：“你這兒有什么好書(shū)？”“好書(shū)當(dāng)然有很多，但要看您要什么樣的書(shū)?！甭?tīng)了那位叔叔的講解，兒子仰起頭津津有味地聽(tīng)著。兒子看了看書(shū)的封面說(shuō)：“就要這本書(shū)了！”爸爸付了錢(qián)后，高高興興地走出了店門(mén)。

在回家的路上，兒子拿著書(shū)一邊走一邊看，爸爸見(jiàn)兒子全神貫注地看著書(shū)，也被這本書(shū)吸引過(guò)來(lái)。他跟著兒子，彎著腰，背著手，因?yàn)檫@本書(shū)真的很好看。走著走著，煙灰掉下來(lái)，把爸爸的外衣燒了個(gè)洞，爸爸仍然沒(méi)有察覺(jué)，而是繼續(xù)看書(shū)。

On the way home, my son took the book and read it. When my father saw that my son was absorbed in the book, he was also attracted by the book. He followed his son, bending over and carrying his hands on his back, because the book was really good-looking. Walking, the ashes fell down and burned a hole in my father's coat. My father still didn't realize it, but continued to read.

回到家后，兒子還是有滋有味地看著書(shū)。爸爸脫掉外衣，走進(jìn)廚房，口干舌燥的，于是燒了一壺水，由于太急，他把茶葉倒進(jìn)了水壺里。水壺里的水漫出來(lái)了，把爸爸的腳都給燙傷了。爸爸嘴里吸著煙斗，煙灰弄到了兒子頭上，可他們還是埋頭看書(shū)。

When he got home, his son still looked at the book. Dad took off his coat and went into the kitchen. His mouth was dry, so he burned a pot of water. He poured the tea into the kettle because he was in a hurry. The water in the kettle overflowed and burned dad's feet. Father's mouth was smoking a pipe, and the ashes were on his son's head, but they still buried themselves in a book.

晚上，該洗澡了，爸爸和兒子不知不覺(jué)地走到浴盆邊，連衣和鞋子都沒(méi)脫，就跳進(jìn)浴盆里看書(shū)去了。

In the evening, it's time to take a bath. Father and son unconsciously walk to the edge of the bathtub. Without taking off their clothes and shoes, they jump into the bathtub to read.

一本好書(shū)，讓爸爸和兒子忘記了周?chē)囊磺校麄円黄鸲冗^(guò)了一段美好的時(shí)光。
